Nanoscience, Processes and Advanced Materials
The program’s area of concentration focuses on research involving physical and chemical processes of matter transformation and their applications. It comprises modifying existing materials or obtaining new products, investigating their physical, chemical and/or biological properties, as well as correlating these properties with their structures. In also contemplates the investigation of matter on a nanometric scale, and the effect such scale has on materials, in terms of properties and functionality, in comparison with their macroscopic form. This integrative approach aims to carry out research at the edge of knowledge, in order to provide scientific and technological advances that contribute to different fields, such as energy, textiles, metal-mechanics, pulp and paper, polymers, biomedicine, pharmaceuticals and the environment.
